ADNOC is the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, a diversified and integrated group of fifteen energy companies that provide oil and gas exploration, drilling, refining and logistics services. Moustafa Mahmoud Hefny, manager of Project Management Systems and Data Management at ADNOC, explains his role as the enterprise architect responsible for linking business requirements, digital strategies, and systems.
Hefny and his team had to manage two kinds of project data. One came from their network of group companies and the other from their consultants and contractors. They had been struggling to report accurate project portfolio data because a patchwork of different systems provided different inputs which had to be integrated. This manual approach to managing projects was used to create reports so there could be more visibility at the executive, decision-maker level. They did not have a single source of truth. Now, as Hefny says, they can create executive level reports with “the click of a button.”
All departments at ADNOC headquarters and across its network of group companies have embraced using Planisware because they now have a consistent, single source of all project data in one place. They can now create analysis that leads to proper forecasting, validation, and proper data governance which increases the efficiency of making decisions. Looking ahead, ADNOC now has a solid foundation of accurate historical data to start their journey of using artificial intelligence/machine learning for analysis.
