Planisware™, the leading global provider of Project & Product Portfolio Management solutions recently concluded their 2012 Life Sciences Summit at the distinctive Hamilton Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Washington, D.C. Organized around the theme of best practices for planning, implementing, and delivering Portfolio Management and Project Management to the organization, this year's conference featured Planisware product demonstrations, customer presentations, and a variety of workshops led by Planisware solutions experts.
Pierre Demonsant, CEO and founder of Planisware, kicked off the conference with a discussion of Planisware's achievements in 2011 - including steady company growth, an expanding global footprint, a redefined solution framework, and continued commitment to customer services. A demonstration of recently released product enhancements and features illustrated the facility of building and publishing professional, easy-to-use queries and dashboards through Planisware Explorer, Planisware's own business intelligence tool, and highlighted how Planisware roadmapping capabilities can help organizations visually communicate goals, timelines, and strategies to and from different business units, functions, and teams, across the organization.
United by organizational initiatives to establish a trusted source of truth for strategy and planning and maximize operational development and delivery efforts, representatives from Pfizer, Eli Lilly and Sanofi each described their own company's strategy and highlighted key decisions that enabled them to bring their vision of an integrated R&D resource and cost model to fruition. In addition, presenters from Bristol-Myers Squibb focused on how they were able to align clinical trial execution with project strategy, while presentations by Elanco, Actelion, and Stryker illuminated methods to fast-track project portfolio management implementations from the perspective of animal health, medical device, and mid-sized pharmaceutical organizations.
On day two, Planisware consultants moderated interactive and instructional Planisware workshops on PPM germane topics such as portfolio reporting, strategic portfolio planning, road mapping, scenario planning, cost management, and scheduling in a multi-level, cross-team environment. This year's technical track featured a case study led by IT managers from Janssen Pharma which covered best practices and tips on back end optimizations for worldwide, multi-site implementations. Throughout the event, networking activities enabled best practice and knowledge exchange between customers.
“Year after year, our life science conference has been touted as one of the key forums for R&D leaders in the life sciences to meet and exchange ideas,” noted Pierre Demonsant. “With record numbers of international guests from Europe and Japan in attendance, representatives from across a variety of fields, a healthy mix of long-time committed customers and new ones, this year's conference boasted the most diverse attendance yet. The community at this conference enabled rich exchanges which can only be had through such broad experiences and perspectives.”
